In May 2010, leaders of business, labor, education, health care, government, non-profits, and other key stakeholders along with members of Generation West Virginia from across West Virginia were hosted for the first-ever Governor’s Summit on Young Talent at the Governor’s Mansion in Charleston. The Summit, the first of its kind in the country, was a unique opportunity to discuss common areas of need and opportunities to help West Virginia attract and retain young talent, those 21 to 45 years of age.

West Virginia's future success in building a strong and skilled workforce and base of young leaders greatly relies on retaining and attracting young talent. From opinions and ideas provided by the Summit's participants, Generation West Virginia is pleased to present the the Governor’s Summit on Young Talent Summary – focusing in the key areas of commerce, education, health care and education.

As Generation West Virginia moves forward, we will use this information as a framework for our future work as well as involving you in our efforts to make West Virginia a destination for young talent. We invite you to become involved in Generation West Virginia and provide your input and expertise into our present and future efforts.
