Location: Remote with occasional travel; mileage reimbursed at the current GSA rate for trips >40 miles from residence

Hope in Action Alliance, Inc. (HIAA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to strengthening communities across Appalachia. Founded in West Virginia, HIAA serves communities connected by Appalachian culture, history, and shared systems of care.
Our team strengthens collaboration by bridging advanced systems with grassroots, community-driven efforts. We build networks of support, grow effective initiatives, and help scale successful programs from one community to another.
Position Overview
The Collaboration Specialist coordinates and facilitates bimonthly meetings with cross-sector, cross-regional professionals, using SAMHSA’s best-practice coalition-building model. This role maintains and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, expands collaborative engagement, and manages communications via social media, website, and email. The specialist also plans and executes the annual wellness summit, ensures program metrics are met, and prepares quarterly progress reports.
This position will also support funding efforts by identifying grant opportunities, assisting with contract solicitations, and promoting the organization’s initiatives to partners and stakeholders. While currently part-time and temporary, the role is expected to grow and evolve alongside the expansion of the collaborative.

*Hope in Action Alliance, Inc. is the fiscal and operational incubator for the regional collaborative for a period of one year, with the option to extend upon mutual agreement. In this role, Hope in Action will not replace or assume responsibilities of any existing advisory board or steering committee. Instead, we will strengthen the current structure by serving as a liaison between collaborative leadership and a newly hired collaboration specialist, ensuring alignment, accountability, and progress. Please note that the collaboration specialist will adhere to all personnel and operational policies and procedures established by Hope in Action.
