About the Role:
The Creative Network Manager oversees the membership, benefits and web platform for the West Virginia Creative Network in support of Establishing the Creative Network: West Virginia’s Arts Entrepreneur Ecosystem.
Location: Remote with occasional travel for meetings & events
Under general supervision, the Creative Network Manager will engage with the network’s members in the collaborative development, regular improvement & maintenance of the WV Creative Network web platform, its tiers & benefits. The manager will work with complementary staff & contractors to run a successful & beneficial membership platform for creatives across the state of WV. This will include regular communication with network members, collaboration with web developers, communications manager and other relevant program staff to deliver a stellar & welcoming user experience & benefits to new & existing network members.
Essential Job Duties
- Act as an essential, personable bridge between our organization & its WV Creative Network Members
- Serve as the primary point of contact for WV Creative Network Members, providing consistent, responsive, and courteous communication
- Manage member directory listings & approvals process
- Assist members in maximizing their membership benefits.
- Play a key role in the collaborative design process for membership tiers & benefits
- Work closely with communications staff to promote member benefits
- Develop and implement approval standards, rubrics, and processes for membership tiers.

- Actively listen to members and incorporate feedback into platform improvements.
- Support members with applications and membership status, in collaboration with web developers.
- Monitor and analyze platform usage and performance to inform future developments.
- Research and integrate best practices into membership benefits, tiers, and services.
Additional Duties
- Represent the organization at in-person events(occasionally), including membership outreach and networking activities.
- This may include membership outreach events, conferences where the organization presents its process and impact and other general networking events with partners and members
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or above.
- Lead by example and share knowledge to inspire others.
Work Context
- Physical Activity Level: Low
- Physical Demands: Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds; rarely lifts more than 50 pounds.
- Work Environment: Office-based with occasional travel for events. The majority of tasks involve computer-based work.
- The employee generally works in well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production settings with adequate ventilation. The majority of tasks involve working at a computer.
Training Plans
- Training for this job position will be the responsibility of the direct supervisor with support from WV Creative Network web platform development team WD Strategies.
- Initial training will take place over a period of 90 days in parallel with the development of the web platform.
- Ongoing training relevant to platform updates and new offerings will be provided and based on the needs of the employee and organization to achieve program goals and adequately support WV Creative Platform member needs.
Qualifications Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Preferred Areas of Study: Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, UX Design, Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 2+ years in program management, community engagement, or member relations, preferably in an arts, nonprofit, or entrepreneurial setting.
- Equivalent experience working in communications/marketing, customer support, user experience design or other fields relevant to the work styles and competencies listed below
- Experience managing membership platforms, databases, or similar tools.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with web development principles and improving online user experiences (preferred).
- Experience designing or managing tiered membership benefits (preferred).
- Knowledge of West Virginia’s arts and creative community (preferred).
