Executive Director sought for Nazareth Farm, Inc., a small Catholic non-profit organization serving the people of rural
West Virginia through home repair and providing service-retreat experiences for young adult volunteers. The Executive
Director, under the general direction of and accountable to the Nazareth Farm, Inc. Board of Directors, is responsible for
all aspects of Nazareth Farm, Inc. and seeks to ensure the implementation of its mission.
Compensation/Salary Total compensation package value of up to $75,000. Package includes: annual base salary $35,000 and comprehensive benefits including housing (in a private, three bedroom, single-family home), 42 paid days off, full paid health insurance, and coverage for discretionary expenses.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Administrative and Financial: Preparation, implementation, and oversight of evaluation procedures, financial
documents, organizational policies and procedures in order to ensure the consistency of the Nazareth Farm, Inc.
mission
- Personnel Management: Ensures the vitality of the staff community by hiring, developing, and evaluating staff
and participating in the life of the staff community
- Program Responsibilities: Oversees operations and safety of the varying aspects of the Nazareth Farm, Inc.
program including the home repair mission, volunteer and staff experience, and Nazareth Farm, Inc. property
- Community and Public Relations: Maintains communication with key constituencies, local agencies, and
charitable organizations in order to advance the mission of Nazareth Farm, Inc. and advocate for the people of
Doddridge County
- Stewardship and Fundraising: Develops, implements, and manages processes to promote the financial viability of
Nazareth Farm, Inc. including budgeting, fundraising, and coordinating efforts with the Board of Directors –
including efforts related to the organization’s upcoming capital campaign
- Board: Collaborates and communicates regularly with the Board of Directors, especially the Board Chair, through
the regular evaluation and implementation of a strategic plan, attendance at all Board meetings, and written
communications
Qualifications and requirements:
- Relevant experience in social work, psychology, non-profit management, education, theology, spirituality, or a
related field
- A minimum two years experience in leadership including supervision of staff and agency management
- A practicing Catholic with working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching, experience in young adult/youth ministry
or retreats, and a commitment to developing lay leadership within the Catholic church
- A collaborative leadership style, excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and flexibility
- Proven capacity for and interest in financial management and fund development
- Understand the dynamics of an intentional Christian community, and a desire to participate in an intentional
community
- Commitment to a three-year term, with the possibility of reappointment for additional service
- Residence on site (provided by Nazareth Farm, Inc.)
