Edward Tucker Architects, Inc. is searching for a full-time Interior Designer who shares our passion for design to join our team in Huntington, West Virginia. We are searching for applicants to further our pursuit to provide exceptional design and service to a diverse range of clients and project types that include health care, higher education, research laboratories, K-12, libraries, museums, and renovation/adaptive reuse.

We have low employee turnover, and our studio is in a beautifully renovated mid-century building, located in Huntington, West Virginia’s thriving downtown.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and present design concepts and conduct client meetings in a professional manner.
  • Interior space planning projects, including ADA compliant design. 
  • Selection, design and specification of interior finishes, furniture, and equipment
  • Completion of interior architectural drawings such as plans, interior elevations and details, casework elevations and details, etc.
  • Meet target deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, design team and construction team.
  • Perform field visits and construction administration tasks.

Knowledge of furniture and finish products, including quality and construction, is key, as is awareness of new products and sensitivity to material durability and longevity.  A modern design aesthetic is required in order to coordinate with the firm’s architectural work.  

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design

Software: Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Adobe In-Design and Photoshop, Microsoft Office

Expectations: Professional demeanor and positive attitude.  Ability to complete tasks efficiently and work cooperatively with a project team as well as individually.  Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication and problem-solving skills.  Highly motivated, collaborative, and possessing a professional work ethic.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is based on a 40-hour work week and ranges from $40,000-55,000, and is negotiable depending on experience.
