Mountain Laurel Learning Cooperative (MLLC) is seeking a talented and caring individual to join our team. The Mountain Laurel Learning Center, located in Thomas, WV offers a Montessori-based education
program for preschool and homeschool students through the age of 14. We are seeking someone with a deep curiosity about life, social responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning who is passionate about
Montessori. Our Learning Center is a warm, and enthusiastic community of learners. We believe that in a loving, caring and safe atmosphere, every child will learn and grow with a proven program, based on excellence and experience. At our Learning Center, the teacher learns what ignites each child’s passions, and helps them to discover and develop their talents.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have a Montessori teaching credential from AMS or AMI, NAMC, MACTE-
accredited training facility appropriate for the Elementary Certification. We do offer support to receive
an online certificate.
Must have experience in an Elementary or Montessori environment. Have a BA/BS or120 semester
hours of approved college credit or a bachelor’s degree equivalence.
Must pass a background check.
Must be a self-motivated, self-directed team player that can establish and maintain wonderful
relationships with staff, parents, and children.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains a neat, well-organized and attractively prepared environment consistent with
  Montessori pedagogy.
• Keep detailed records of the progress of each student assigned, prepare narratives for each
  child’s file at the end of each program year, keep parents informed of children’s progress, and
  meet with each parent as requested.
• Ability to present consistent and individual group lessons to the students and support each
  child’s direction and success.
• Working with students of varying abilities assigned to the classroom.
• Preparing the Montessori classroom environment to meet the students’ needs and interests.

Compensation and Benefits

Mountain Laurel will provide paid training and an online certification. Compensation range is $15-20/ hour depending on experience.
