JOB TITLE: Licensed Graduate Social Worker (or higher license)  

JOB DESCRIPTION  

The Licensed Graduate Social Worker (or higher license) will be responsible for providing  case management support to at-risk girls and young women in Libera’s programs. The LGSW  will offer individual counseling sessions for program participants on an as-needed basis and  facilitate Libera groups in various settings, including schools, juvenile detention centers,  shelters, youth reporting centers, and with other nonprofits and community care providers  throughout West Virginia. Other tasks will include planning, coordinating, and attending events  and trainings, participating in team meetings, and collaborating with Libera staff on projects. This  position is key to carrying out our vision to build a brighter future for youth and young women in  WV, so they are free to achieve their dreams.  

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Provide individual case management support for young women in our programs
  • Develop and use community resources, and link individuals with outside resources
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to better understand program outcomes and increase positive  impact for the youth and young women in Libera programs 
  • Lead Libera groups in schools, juvenile detention centers, shelters, youth reporting centers and other  community settings
  • Provide therapy services individually and in group settings with youth and young women
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of participant progress and treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and mental health support to program participants
  • Advocate for participants’ needs within the organization and with external partners
  • Participate in program development, evaluation, and improvement efforts
  • Engage in professional development and stay current with best practices in social work and mental health
  • Provide staff and mentor training and information to better understand factors affecting program  participants
  • Build strong relationships with program participants, staff and community partners
  • Improve community awareness of mental health resources and coping skills
  • Utilize a person-centered, strengths-based approach from a multi-dimensional and trauma-informed  perspective

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS  

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program 
  • Licensed Graduate Social Worker (or higher license) in the state of West Virginia
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience working directly with at-risk youth or in a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working directly with clients in one-on-one and/or group  therapeutic settings
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and project management skills
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with new people, businesses, and organizations
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and driven high-performer looking to make a difference

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Must be willing to travel on a weekly and/or monthly basis across WV 
  • Some weekend or evening hours may be required based on timing of events
  • Required to complete Libera Listener Training, a background check, and suicide prevention training
  • Location: Charleston, WV

PAY & BENEFITS  

  • Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 per year
