Mary Lu Adams, Employer Partnership Manager

Mary Lu Adams joined Generation West Virginia as Employer Partnership Manager in July 2022. Born and raised just outside of Wheeling in Valley Grove, WV, Mary Lu attended Bethany College for her bachelor’s degree in psychology and the University of Pittsburgh for her master’s in Higher Education Management. Her higher ed career eventually took her to Georgia Southern University, where she found a love of helping students discover ways to develop their skills and interests into fulfilling career opportunities by connecting them with employers seeking young talent. But the pull to return to West Virginia was just too strong, and she moved back to the Mountain State, singing along to “Country Roads” as she drove over the West Virginia state line.

A strong believer in the power of community and our responsibility to leave everything better than we found it, Mary Lu is excited to bring her skills in employer relations to GWV to fulfill her two great passions: helping people discover and create their path in life, and working to improve and promote her beautiful home state. In addition to work with GWV, Mary Lu is an executive board member of the Junior League of Wheeling, and a choir member at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. She loves trivia, baking, crossword puzzles, NPR, getting outside as much as possible, and her two kitties, Tanger and Stevie.
