We’re Hiring a Fellowship Director!

Generation West Virginia is looking for a Fellowship Director to lead our Impact Fellowship program that invites leaders to work, live, and give in the Mountain State by offering yearlong, paid fellowships at some of the state’s most innovative companies. Are you interested in leading a rapidly growing program that has the power to transform opportunity in West Virginia? We’d love for you to join us!

We are the statewide organization dedicated to attracting, retaining and advancing young talent in the Mountain State. In 2007, a group of dedicated volunteers formed Generation West Virginia as grassroots coalition of young West Virginians across the state who recognized the power and potential impact of a unified statewide voice advocating for the interest and needs of the next generation. Since then, we’ve grown into an organization with two full-time staff (you’d be the third!), known for getting things done and making big impact as a small, driven team. In just the last three years, we’ve created new jobs through the newly launched Impact Fellowship, informed public policy wins alongside diverse coalition partners, supported our statewide network of local Generation groups in generating over 400 local events, and our work has been noticed nationally in Fast Company and US News and Worlds Reports publications. And we know this is only the beginning. Check out our website to learn more about what we do and why we do it:

Through Generation West Virginia’s Impact Fellowship, we partner with participating Host Companies who employ Fellows in year-long, innovative work fours day a week at a full salary and benefits. We’ve created a unique work-week model, where Fellows volunteer every Friday of their fellowship year on local projects in partnership with nonprofits in the region. We are creating a movement of doers, helping to enrich the communities Fellows call home and expanding the reach and capacity of local nonprofits to create meaningful change. We piloted this program in 2017 with five Host Companies offering a total of 7 fellowship positions and more than doubled the size of the program in 2018 with 11 Host Companies offering 17 fellowship positions across the state. This rapidly growing program is on track to create 100 new jobs in the state in its first five years. For more information check out the program website:
