Position Title: Operations & Communications Coordinator

Supervised by: Chief Operations Officer

Hours: Full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week in Charleston (hybrid work possibility)

Description: The Operations & Communications Coordinator provides daily operations support to WVCAN, training and event coordination, and assists with the communication and awareness needs of the Network.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports WVCAN strategic initiatives to strengthen child advocacy centers (CACs) and multidisciplinary investigative teams (MDITs) in WV. Provides administrative support to WVCAN including scheduling, attending, monitoring, and note-taking for in-person and virtual meetings and trainings. Provides training and event coordination including venue and catering logistics, attendee registration and communication, travel arrangements, and meeting materials preparation. Streamlines Network communications to member centers. Manages continuing education program. Maintains an organized physical and digital filing system. Supports grant proposal and report preparation. Maintains database with contact information of technical assistance, training/meeting participants, and supporters. Assists in supporter acknowledgments. Manages WVCAN office supply inventory and ordering. Works in collaboration with the Chief Operations Officer to manage social media pages, create monthly newsletters, update WVCAN website, track press mentions, and provide relevant communications technical assistance to CACs. Assists in the preparation and execution of large events (Statewide Conference, fundraising/donor events, etc.). Keeps office in a neat and tidy condition. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience preferred.

Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite.

Strong written and verbal communication.

Team player.

High professional standards and ethics.

Ability to pass a criminal background check, child abuse registry check, and eligible to work in the United States.

TRAVEL

Occasional overnight travel. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Must have own transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s in business, communications, or relevant field. Database management

experience. Graphic design and social media content development and management.

Training or event coordination experience.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Starting salary is $35,000 a year. Great benefits package including health insurance and health reimbursement account, dental, vision, paid leave, flexible time off including sabbatical, and retirement match.
