Job Summary: The Residential Shelter Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and supervision of staff and clients during his/her assigned shift under the direction of the Residential Manager. The supervisor ensures an uninterrupted on-site 24/7/365 coverage of the residential facility in conjunction with other Residential Supervisors. This position attends treatment meetings and provides/supervises the delivery of supportive counseling services for each client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fulfills duties of the Residential Manager in his/her absence
- Maintain a safe supportive trauma informed environment with the shelter
- Monitor facility to maintain safety of clients and shelter space
- Assist clients with shelter routines
- Supports staff and clients in following all shelter procedures
- Provides orientation and training for all new shelter staff
- Provides general oversite and supervision of shelter staff.
- Helps clients work through conflict with others living in the shelter
- Keeps shelter clean, restocked and up to standards based on license and agency regulations
- Communicates observations and interactions with clients to case management and shelter manager through documentation in the electronic medical records system.
- Intervenes with client crisis in accordance with treatment and agency policy and procedures
- Remains up to date with all regulations, policies and procedures
- Participates in program, department and agency meetings and relevant trainings as required, as well as inter-agency groups that provide assistance and treatment.
- Plans home visits and ensures proper documentation and review are completed upon return.
- Adheres and assist others with adhering to agency policy, procedures, and professional code of ethics.
- Completes all duties as assigned and other duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft office
- Valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
Requires Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related human service field or the 5-6 years’ experience in a supervisory role; experience must include 2 years direct experience with population served in residential, transitional, or supportive living setting; Must have valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law
