Lucas Lemonds, ACC AmeriCorps Member, GWV

Lucas Lemonds is an enthusiastic American Connection Corps (ACC) member with Generation WV, focused on enhancing broadband infrastructure and digital inclusion across West Virginia. As a facilitator and liaison, he works with community teams in distressed and rural areas, fostering relationships and guiding project planning to address the digital divide.

Originally from Burlington, WV, Lucas has a deep-rooted passion for community service and engagement. Growing up in a close-knit community, he developed a strong appreciation for the power of collaboration and support in driving positive change. A recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business management from WVU Potomac State College, Lucas is currently in the final semester of his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at WVU, further equipping him with the skills to make a meaningful impact.

In his ACC role, Lucas collaborates closely with the GWV Broadband Director and key partners like USDA Rural Development and the WV Office of Broadband. He is passionate about creating training materials and outreach initiatives that empower communities to implement successful broadband and digital equity projects, ensuring all residents have the tools to thrive in a digital world. His overall goal is to facilitate the expansion of broadband access to underserved populations, ensuring that every community member has the tools they need to thrive in a digital world.

Previously, as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at the WVU Center for Community Engagement, Lucas made significant strides in promoting community initiatives and fostering engagement. Through targeted marketing and social media campaigns, he increased awareness of various programs, resulting in higher participation rates and stronger community involvement. Lucas’s creative approach and strategic thinking not only highlighted the importance of digital inclusion but also empowered residents by connecting them with resources and opportunities.
