Qualifications: The Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center is accepting resumes for an Industrial Maintenance Instructor/Trainer that will be based at MAMC Huntington.
Required: Must have a minimum of five years’ work experience manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors/controls, control panel, and other automation/processing equipment. Must be proficient in diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment and the ability to maintain equipment. Knowledge of machining, welding, electronics, or electrical also preferred. Strong oral and written skills combined with a team-player attitude are required. Interested individuals must display self-initiative and the ability to work in a team environment. Must be willing to travel statewide to conduct training and visit manufacturing companies to advise of RCBI service offerings. An associate’s degree or higher in a related technical field is required.
Preferred: Hands-on instruction or training experience is preferred. Mechanical motors and controls background preferred. Oversight and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Certifications in Industrial Maintenance Technology preferred.
Duties: Designing and providing customized training to meet industry demand; assisting with instruction of Advanced Manufacturing Program including skill sets in Industrial Maintenance, Process Controls, Electronics and Electrical options. Responsible for teaching the installation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment in a typical manufacturing environment along with basic machine processing concepts. Lead in maintaining a safe and clean facility, assuring all safety procedures are followed. Travel will be required, and the candidate may split time at classroom locations within the service district.
Additional Responsibilities: Duties also include student pre-testing, interviews, and selection; developing lesson plans; maintaining discipline in the classroom and lab; instructing students on a day-to-day basis; evaluating student performance; and maintaining attendance and test records. Performing preventive maintenance on shop equipment; maintaining inventory of supplies; working with the program Industry Advisory Council to maintain industry standards. Include day-to-day interaction with all partner sites, pertinent day-to-day interaction with management, intense day-to-day interaction with local and regional customers, ensure partner and industry satisfaction, lead in developing and implementing appropriate procedures and processes to ensure the latest technologies are available.
