Thompson & Litton is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer, PE to join our team in Princeton or Charleston, West Virginia.

What You’ll Do

Our team partners with municipalities, public agencies, and private clients to deliver essential infrastructure that supports growing communities throughout the region.

In this role, you’ll manage projects from concept through construction while designing infrastructure that serves communities throughout the region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Water & Wastewater: Design water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
  • Site & Municipal: Lead municipal infrastructure, utility, and site development projects.
  • Stormwater Management: Prepare grading plans, stormwater management designs, and hydraulic and hydrologic analyses.
  • Documentation: Develop engineering reports, specifications, technical proposals, and construction cost estimates.
  • Coordination: Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, including the WVDEP.
  • Mentorship: Mentor Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and design technicians while supporting project quality and successful delivery.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a collaborative engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and building lasting client relationships.

Required

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in West Virginia, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity immediately upon hire.
  • Experience: Four or more years of progressive civil engineering experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Communication: Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Work Authorization: Valid authorization to work in the United States. Please note: This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or other employment-based visas.

Preferred Experience

  • Municipal infrastructure design and utility coordination.
  • Water and wastewater systems engineering.
  • Site development and stormwater management.
  • Project management or construction administration experience.
