Position Summary:
Snyder Environmental Services LLC is seeking motivated, dependable, and safety-driven individuals to join our Jack-and-Bore Construction Crew. This position assists with underground utility installation projects involving auger boring, casing pipe installation, trenchless construction, and related utility work. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety and safe construction practices.
Qualifications:
- Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements
- Must consistently wear and maintain required PPE and participate in daily safety meetings and trainings
- Ability to identify potential hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb, twist, and work continuously throughout the day
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment, underground utilities, and hand tools
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow directions accurately
- Must report to assigned job sites on time each shift
- Valid driver’s license required (MVR subject to review for company insurance)
- Must be willing to travel and stay overnight for out-of-town projects when required
- Pre-employment background screening and drug testing required
- 1+ years of general construction or underground utility experience preferred
- Experience pipe installation, trenching, or utility construction is a plus
General Responsibilities:
- Assist with jack and bore operations for underground utility installations
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites
- Assist with job site setup, maintenance, and cleanup
- Support installation of casing pipe, carrier pipe, and underground utilities
- Operate hand tools, air tools, jackhammers, rock drills, and other construction equipment
- Assist with excavation, grading, shoring, and site preparation activities
- Follow all OSHA regulations, traffic control requirements, and company safety policies at all times
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety trainings, and job hazard analyses
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist crew members with measurements, material handling, and equipment operation
- Complete assigned labor tasks safely and efficiently
- Assist with necessary handwork within steel casing pipe. Must be able to work within enclosed/confined spaces.
Compensation & Schedule Overview:
- Starting pay $20 an hour paid weekly; some projects may be paid at prevailing wage rates
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday
- Overtime is typical
- Ability to work both local and out-of-town projects required
