Position Overview
LG is seeking a Director of Ecosystem & Partnership Development to join the recently opened LG NOVA office based in West Virginia. This can be a hybrid position. The Director will play a critical role in unlocking the next chapter of transformational growth for this over $70 billion-dollar global tech company. The Director of Ecosystem & Partnership Development will drive LG NOVA’s growth through strategic relationship building and partnership development across the West Virginia region. This role focuses on creating and nurturing a robust network of partnerships that generate business value through ecosystem development, strategic investments, and collaborative innovation initiatives. The goal is to drive substantial and tangible business opportunities for LG NOVA’s ventures and key startup partners with ecosystem partners in West Virginia, the Broader Appalachian Region and/or the US market.
What You’ll Do:
Business Development
- Create, drive and close business deals and partnership agreements for LG NOVA ventures and key startup partners with ecosystem partners in West Virginia, the Broader Appalachian Region and/or the US market
- Drive revenue growth for LG NOVA ventures and key startup partners through strategic partnership opportunities and ecosystem initiatives
- Lead negotiations and oversee contract development for business partnerships
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for collaborative ventures with ecosystem partners
- Create and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities through ecosystem relationships
- Structure commercial agreements and business models for partnership initiatives
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities through ecosystem insights
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure business development success
- Create compelling business cases and value propositions for potential partners
Ecosystem Partnership Development
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including startups, universities, corporate partners, public sector partners and investment firms in West Virginia and the broader Appalachian Region
- Identify, evaluate and secure strategic partnership opportunities that align with LG NOVA’s business objectives
- Structure and negotiate partnership agreements that create mutual value
- Lead partnership integration efforts to ensure successful execution of collaborative initiatives
- Cultivate relationships with regional accelerators, incubators, and innovation hubs
- Create programs and initiatives that engage local entrepreneurial talent and innovative companies
- Design and implement strategies to strengthen LG NOVA’s presence in the West Virginia startup and innovation ecosystem
Experience We’d Like You to Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics or related field; MBA preferred
- 8+ years of experience in business development and partnership management
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in closing complex business deals and partnership agreements
- Experience in developing and executing business development strategies
- Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and partnership targets
- Proficiency in business case development and financial modeling
- Strong negotiation and deal structuring skills
- Experience in structuring and negotiating complex partnership agreements
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
- Deep understanding of the West Virginia business landscape and investment community
- Strong network within the Greater Appalachian region’s startup and innovation ecosystem
- Willingness to engage business partners in West Virginia, the Broader Appalachian Region and/or the broader US market
Location
- This position will work out of the LG NOVA office either in Morgantown or Huntington, West Virginia. Travel may be up to 10~20%.
