POSITION DESCRIPTION: Executive Director
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Reports to: Board of Directors
Summary: The Executive Director creates a healthy community by leading our team of staff, volunteers, medical providers, and partners to strategically and consistently live out the mission of Ebenezer Medical Outreach. Our Mission is to provide access to affordable and/or free comprehensive health care, preventative care, dental care and pharmacy services to adults in the Fairfield West community and surrounding areas.
Accountability: The Executive Director will work under the direct supervision of the Board of Directors, specifically with the Executive Committee.
Roles of the Executive Director Position include:
- Organizational Leadership
- Financial Oversight
- Community Engagement
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision of staff and contracted team members, in an effort to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness required to deliver quality patient care consistently.
- Serve as a member of the Board of Directors Executive Committee and generally support the management of Board Meetings and Activities.
- Develop strategies for consistently and effectively executing the mission of the organization, especially in times where adapting to external pressures is required.
- Oversee areas of financial management including: Revenue, Expenses, Grants Management, and Fundraising.
- Maintain a positive, active, and public presence on behalf of the organization within its geographic service area.
- Support an engaging environment that staff want to work in, volunteers want to serve in, patients want to be served in, and partners want to collaborate with.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned for program success.
Expectations:
- Quality Patient Care. Ensure the provision of accessible, high-quality medical care, dental care, and pharmacy services through oversight of regular operations and development of unique programs for meeting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health needs of the uninsured and underserved.
- Sustainability. Ensure financial performance of the organization with an annual budget of over $700,000, including budgeting, expense management, fundraising, grants management, grant writing, and reporting.
- Community Awareness. Steward and grow the organization’s reputation through collaborative efforts, community presentations, digital content development, marketing initiatives, outreach events, and volunteer recruitment and engagement activities.
- Organizational Excellence. Engage the dedicated members of the Board of Directors and lead the committed team of staff and contractors to achieve the organization’s aim to build a healthy community. Consistently contribute to team success with a positive attitude and willingness to help.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (required). Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred). A minimum of 3-5 years’ prior experience or relevant education (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, donor management software, electronic medical record, and other software programs (required).
Working Environment & Physical Requirements:
Working Environment:
The Executive Director operates in a professional office environment, typically within a healthcare or nonprofit setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing systems. The position requires regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders including staff, volunteers, patients, donors, vendors, and community partners. Communication may occur in person, by telephone, via email, or through virtual meeting platforms. The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule & Travel:
This is a full-time position, with standard business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to attend board meetings, community events, or fundraising functions. Local and regional travel may be necessary to attend meetings, develop partnerships, or represent the organization.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Sit or stand for extended periods
- Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone
- Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds (such as event materials or office supplies)
