Job Title: Facility & Skilled Trades Manager

Location: On-site, Charleston, WV
Reports to: Executive Director
Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Overall Function:

The Charleston HUB Manager & Skilled Trades Instructor is a dynamic, full-time leadership role overseeing WV Women Work’s Charleston HUB. This position blends community coordination, hands-on trades instruction, and facility management. You’ll support the Step Up for Women Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program, deliver skilled trades training, and handle daily HUB operations—including maintenance, tenant coordination, and community engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Community & Participant Coordination (Approx. 20%)

  • Lead recruitment and outreach across Charleston and nearby regions.
  • Build partnerships with employers, unions, and community organizations.
  • Represent WVWW at events, career fairs, and community meetings.
  • Support fundraising, marketing, and outreach initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship to students and program graduates.

Skilled Trades Instruction (Approx. 30%)

  • Plan and deliver hands-on training in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or other skilled trades.
  • Teach tool use, safety protocols, and workplace readiness.
  • Offer individualized coaching and classroom support.
  • Ensure adherence to WVWW’s Self-Eliminating Demerit System and classroom policies.
  • Collaborate with Step Up Program staff as needed.

Charleston HUB Facilities & Administrative Oversight (Approx. 50%)

  • Manage day-to-day HUB facility operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming space.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, vendor relations, and supply management.
  • Oversee tenant agreements and shared resource logistics.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and program materials.
  • Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance.
  • Handle administrative tasks: mail, supplies, visitor coordination.
  • Assist with HUB events, community activities, and promotional efforts.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; trade certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related trades.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills—this is a must!
  • Comfortable managing facilities and coordinating with vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general tech tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle physical tasks within the HUB.

  • Teaching or mentorship experience.
  • Background in program coordination, workforce development, or nonprofit operations.
  • Familiarity with Charleston’s community organizations.
