Job Title: Intervention Counselor

Location: Morgantown, WV (Hybrid)

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Compensation: $19/hour

Benefits: Flexible work schedule, hybrid work model, unlimited PTO, 13 paid holidays per year, up to $2,500 annually available toward health insurance reimbursement

Position Summary
MAYSP is seeking a full-time Intervention Counselor to support youth and adults involved in our diversion and intervention programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in substance use intervention and counseling, along with a strong commitment to client-centered, strength-based practice.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in substance use intervention
  • OR 10+ years of direct experience in lieu of a degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Active licensure (LGSW, LCSW, LICSW)
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized needs assessments for clients
  • Provide direct counseling services related to:
    • Healthy relationships
    • Relapse prevention
    • Anger management
  • Create and maintain detailed, timely documentation of all client interactions
  • Attend court hearings and provide client updates as needed
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to share progress reports and coordinate care
  • Collaborate with referral sources, community partners, and internal team members to meet client needs
  • Adapt services to support each client’s goals, strengths, and circumstances
  • Manage intake and communication of clients participating in theft and drug/alcohol diversion programs
  • Manage social media content as needed
