IT Systems Administrator

The High Technology Foundation (HTF) located in the I-79 Technology Park in Fairmont, WV, is a vibrant technology organization with a proven plan to strengthen and diversify West Virginia’s economy. HTF has an opening for a full-time, exempt IT Systems Administrator. This is an onsite position.

Job Description:

  • Seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator with proficiency in multiple operating systems—such as Linux, Windows, and macOS, with knowledge of network and web servers
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), major DevOps tools, Docker, Kubernetes, and versioning systems like Git
  • Basic programming and scripting languages like Java, Python, Bash, and PowerShell
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and configuration management

End-User Support

  • Provide dependable technical support to staff, partners, and affiliated agencies
  • Deliver in-person, phone, and remote assistance with a strong focus on customer service

Microsoft 365 Administration & Support

  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses using Azure Active Directory
  • Support secure document sharing and records management practices

IP-Based Hosted Phone Systems (VoIP)

  • Administer and support IP-based hosted phone systems used by staff

Workstation & Equipment Inventory and Deployment

  • Set up and maintain user workstations, laptops, and peripherals
  • Perform system imaging, software deployment, patching, and updates
  • Maintain hardware inventory and support equipment lifecycle management

Security & Compliance Awareness

  • Apply basic cybersecurity best practices, including access control and device security
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, grant requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Configure and maintain email security, using Barracuda Cloud Control

Infrastructure & Technical Fundamentals

  • Basic support of network connectivity, printers, and shared resources
  • Understanding of IP networking and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Support reliable IT operations in multi-tenant or government-affiliated facilities

Domains & Website Support

  • Maintain corporate GoDaddy account and company domain registrations
  • Use WordPress to update and add information to the company website

Technical Coordinator for Events

  • Assist with audio/visual needs of various facility-hosted public events

Maintain Corporate Telecommunication Accounts

  • Primary point of contact for account billing and service requests

Professional & Organizational Skills

  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users
  • Effective time management and prioritization in a service-oriented environment
  • Collaborative, detail-focused team member

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering preferred with 2+ years of relevant experience.
