The Junior Electrical Estimator for commercial/industrial work supports the Lead Estimators by calculating project costs, conducting material takeoffs, and gathering vendor pricing. Acting as an entry-to-mid-level role, this position is designed to build foundational skills in electrical estimating with a clear path to advancing into senior estimating and/or project management.
This position is located in Elkins, WV.

Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential new bid projects.
- Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid.
- Conduct site visits/pre-bid meetings to gather information for estimating purposes.
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Perform a material and labor estimate identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Submit questions to architect/engineer prior to bid.
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
- Send project information to suppliers and subcontractors for quotation.
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates for construction projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
- Review all estimates with Lead Estimators to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation.
- Prepare outgoing and review incoming scope of work/bid letters.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and electrical systems gained through work experience, coursework or internship experience.
- Ability to understand drawings and specifications, general contractor & subcontractor documents, materials, means, and methods.
- Familiarity with construction management processes, including site operations and contract administration preferred.
- Hands-on experience with construction site activities or electrical installations.
- Strong communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration with team members and clients.
- A foundational understanding of NEC standards and construction safety practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
Requirements:
- MUST PASS MANDATORY DRUG TESTING
- West Virginia or reciprocal state Electricians License (Preferred)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must submit to a background check.
