We are looking for a Transportation Project Manager, with a focus on bridge design, to join the Charleston, WV office. As a member of the team, you will drive profitability, work on a variety of projects, and collaborate with a team of like-minded professionals. In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing both statements of qualifications and fee proposals in the pursuit of projects.
  • Oversight and monitoring of the design, plan development, and QA/QC reviews of bridge projects.
  • Scheduling of project tasks and personnel to complete projects on budget and schedule.
  • Proactively identifying schedule, financial or technical issues.
  • Preparing detailed project quantity calculations and construction cost estimates as needed.
  • Maintaining relationships with clients, subconsultants, public agencies, etc.
  • Working with construction inspection personnel, as required to assure that contracted work accomplishes the intent of the design.
  • Providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Periodic travel will be required.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in West Virginia or the ability to become licensed within six (6) months.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering design practices and an understanding of the WVDOH project development process.
  • Past experience with pursuing and obtaining work through the WVDOH Programmatic process.
  • Past experience as Project Manager and successful completion of WVDOH projects.
  • Experience and knowledge with AASHTO, WVDOH design guidance, CAD-standards, roadway, and right-of-way deliverables.
  • Possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership and time management skills to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Effective meeting skills for both client and public meetings.
