As Fellowship Manager at Generation West Virginia, Scotty Stone leads efforts to connect young professionals with the skills, networks, and sense of purpose needed to thrive and stay in West Virginia. He oversees the design and delivery of statewide professional development opportunities, builds relationships with employers and community partners, and supports Fellows as they grow into the next generation of West Virginia’s leaders.
Scotty Stone brings nearly a decade of nonprofit experience to his work, with a recent focus on economic and workforce development. His work centers on helping West Virginians overcome barriers to employment and build pathways toward lasting opportunity. He’s passionate about helping future generations break the cycle of poverty and find pride and possibility right here at home. In addition to working at Generation West Virginia, Scotty is also serving on the Elk River Board of Directors and as Board Treasurer of the Clay County Business Development Authority.
A Clay County native, Scotty combines a deep commitment to community development with a creative spirit. When he’s not working to strengthen local communities, he’s recording music, floating on the Elk River, travelling the state, or writing short stories.
