The application deadline for the GWV Fellowship program is fast approaching. You have until March 16, 2025, to submit your application and seize this opportunity for professional growth and community engagement.
Over the course of the Fellowship, Fellows will attend 5 in-person and 4 virtual sessions designed to empower young professionals across West Virginia. Participants will engage in:Â
- Advanced professional development curriculum focusing on in-demand skills such as networking and project management.
- Opportunities to learn from industry leaders and explore West Virginia’s rich history and beauty.

Cohort 10 Gains Industry Insights and Level Up Gears Up for Launch
Trainees in Cohort 10 had the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Matt Condra on Wednesday, February 12. A participant in Ascend WV, Matt relocated to West Virginia and now works remotely as a software developer. He shared his unconventional journey into tech, offering valuable advice on both technical and non-technical skills that will help trainees navigate their own career paths in the industry.
Meanwhile, NewForce staff have been making exciting progress on Level Up, a new initiative designed to help NewForce alumni continue building their skills. Thanks to these efforts, the first Level Up cohort is set to launch next month! Led by instructor Barry Griffith, this small group of NewForce alumni will take a deep dive into SQL—enhancing their expertise and opening new doors for career advancement.
