Princeton, W.Va. – December 4, 2024 — Generation West Virginia (GWV) proudly celebrates Broadband Program Director Annie Stroud as the recipient of the “Changing Lives” Power of Performance Award, presented during the seventh annual Small Communities, BIG Solutions (SCBS) Conference held November 20-22 in Princeton, West Virginia. The award honors individuals and organizations making a profound impact by revitalizing communities, creating jobs, and changing lives across the Mountain State.
Hosted by the Alliance for the Economic Development of Southern West Virginia at Marshall University, along with Coalfield Development, The Community Development Hub, and Generation West Virginia, this year’s SCBS Conference brought together policymakers, community leaders, and changemakers. With a focus on addressing West Virginia’s most pressing challenges, the conference featured panels, workshops, and keynotes highlighting solutions in economic development, health, education, and workforce innovation.
Annie Stroud’s leadership in advancing broadband access and connectivity has transformed lives and revitalized communities across southern West Virginia. Her work exemplifies the spirit of the Power of Performance Award, showcasing the positive outcomes that occur when innovative programs and dedicated individuals come together to address critical needs.

The Power of Performance Award has been a cornerstone of the SCBS Conference since its inception in 2018, celebrating remarkable individuals, organizations, and institutions driving progress in the 21-county region of southern West Virginia. Honorees are recognized in categories such as Putting People to Work, Revitalizing Communities, and Changing Lives, as well as the #WVSolutions Seekers category, which spotlights rising student leaders.
