Give One Day for Good #1day4good

“The national media has gone home, the spotlight of public attention has started to fade, but the disaster of the situation for people in these communities is as real as ever.” – Heather Foster, Volunteer WV

Generation West Virginia is responding to the call for volunteers with both an immediate and long-term commitment to send volunteers to flood-impacted communities once a month now through December. We will work with Volunteer WV to choose dates and locations each month to align with the ever-evolving needs across the state. Our July volunteer day will take place in Nicholas County to help the community clean up. If you want to give of your time and energy, register at the link below so we know how many volunteers to expect and can help coordinate carpools if you’re interested. Volunteers will need to meet at Nicholas County High School at 30 Grizzley Lane, Summersville 26651 at 7am. We will finish up around 4pm. Volunteers should make sure to wear work boots, work clothes, and strong bug spray.

Young West Virginians can play a critical role in the flood relief efforts. We can show we are ready to step up, work hard, and commit to the long-term relief efforts needed. As young West Virginians, we may not have the capacity to give lots of money to relief efforts but we can give freely of our young energy, strength, and health to help with the manual labor tasks that are still so desperately needed across the state to clean up and eventually rebuild. What better way to spend a Saturday than with fellow volunteers eager to do their part in rebuilding the communities we care about so deeply? See you in Nicholas County on Saturday, July 16th for what promises to be a moving, challenging, and impactful day.

Young West Virginians are responding to the call for volunteers by giving One Day for Good each month to help with flood relief. Thanks for letting us join you yesterday, Team Rubicon – Region 3, in Nicholas County! We were inspired by the amazing work that is being done in the community and the amazing people coming together to help make it happen. ‪#‎1day4good‬
