Generation West Virginia Partners with TechConnect West Virginia and NOVA West Virginia to Strengthen the State’s Tech Workforce

Generation West Virginia is pleased to announce a new partnership with TechConnect West Virginia, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing West Virginia’s technology sector. Through this collaboration, the Career Connector program will serve as the designated job board for TechConnect West Virginia’s partners, providing a centralized platform for tech employers to share job opportunities and connect with qualified candidates. This partnership, sponsored by NOVA West Virginia, is designed to streamline the hiring process for tech companies while expanding access to career opportunities across the state.

“At TechConnect, our mission is to cultivate and strengthen West Virginia’s innovation economy,” said Ariana Shives, Executive Director of TechConnect. “This partnership with Generation WV connects talented West Virginians with thriving companies, building industries one opportunity at a time. We’re excited to see the impact of this job board statewide.”

Career Connector Supports WorkForce WV’s Rapid Response in Parkersburg

On March 13, Generation WV’s Career Connector Manager, Evan Nelson, was at the WorkForce Development Board Mid Ohio Valley Job Fair, helping job seekers find meaningful career opportunities. With recent federal layoffs impacting many young professionals in the Parkersburg area, our mission to connect West Virginians to high-quality jobs is more important than ever.

Job fairs (both in-person and virtual) are just one of the many ways that Generation WV works to increase access to opportunity in the Mountain State, ensuring that early-career individuals can live, work, and thrive in their communities.
