Broadband

GWV Navigating Changes to Digital Equity Funding
Generation WV has been working with communities across the state to assist them in advancing their digital equity efforts. This includes getting communities ready to apply for grants through the WV Office of Broadband’s Digital Opportunity Grant for digital skills training, device distribution, and local planning.
We have learned that, as of May 9, the State’s Digital Equity Act funding has been terminated and that approximately $7 million in funds for WV communities has been cancelled. We are currently working to restructure our services to continue to support our communities’ efforts in closing the digital divide.

NewForce

You're Invited: NewForce Demo Day
On Thursday, May 29, join Generation WV and the NewForce team for Demo Day, a virtual event where trainees showcase the capstone projects they’ve developed over the past five months. While Demo Day is a graduation requirement, it’s also a unique hiring opportunity —employers will get a firsthand look at the technical skills, critical thinking, and diverse professional backgrounds these future data analysts bring to the table.
Sessions:
Morning: 9:00–11:30 AM
Afternoon: 1:00–3:30 PM
Attend one or both—each session features the same project demos.
Location: Virtual (Zoom link shared after registration)
Expect impressive, real-world projects and explore the Demo Day Prospectus to learn more about each presentation.
