Melanie Taylor, Career Development Program Director

Melanie Taylor joined Generation West Virginia as the Fellowship Director in October 2022 and was promoted to Career Development Program Director in 2024, overseeing the Fellowship and Career Connector programs. Although she was born and raised outside of Lewisburg, WV, Melanie spent nearly 5 years supporting experiential learning programs at both Virginia Tech and Duke University. She has worked with a wide variety of partners and local leaders to design and support programs for students that encourage their growth as young professionals.

Aside from her passion for working with and supporting young professionals, Melanie understands the deep appreciation that West Virginians have for their mountain state. Melanie was eager to return home, not only to apply her knowledge and skills to the Fellowship Program and to contribute to Generation WV’s mission, but to share in this appreciation for West Virginia once more.

Melanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree from West Virginia University. She currently resides in Greenbrier County, WV with her husband, Josh, and their 2 dogs – Koda and Copper.
