Generation West Virginia is pleased to announce a new partnership with TechConnect West Virginia, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing West Virginia’s technology sector. Through this collaboration, the Career Connector program will serve as the designated job board for TechConnect West Virginia’s partners, providing a centralized platform for tech employers to share job opportunities and connect with qualified candidates.
This job board is designed to streamline the hiring process for tech companies while expanding access to career opportunities across the state. It is supported by LG NOVA, the North America Innovation Center for global tech leader LG Electronics, which is promoting economic development and nurturing the growth of an innovation hub in West Virginia.
The Career Connector program, Generation West Virginia’s premier job placement platform, helps bridge the gap between employers and job seekers by providing a user-friendly and accessible resource for both parties. By designating the GWV Career Connector as the official job board for TechConnect’s partners, this partnership ensures that West Virginia’s tech talent has direct access to high-quality career opportunities.
“West Virginia’s tech ecosystem is a dynamic hub where innovation takes root and thrives,” said Melanie Taylor, GWV Career Development Program Director. “Fueled by a strong network of organizations, institutions, industry leaders, and tech-focused accelerators, this ecosystem is vital in driving economic growth and creating lasting value for generations to come.”
“At TechConnect, our mission is simple but powerful: to cultivate and strengthen West Virginia’s innovation economy,” said Ariana Shives, Executive Director of TechConnect. “This partnership with Generation WV is all about creating meaningful connections between growing companies and the talented West Virginians ready to make their mark. Thriving industries don’t just appear—they’re built, one opportunity and one success story at a time. We’re excited to see the impact this job board will have across the state and thrilled to partner with such fantastic organizations to make it happen.”
“The expanding opportunities in the technology sector are foundational to a well-diversified West Virginia economy. Jobs and careers in technology provide high earning potential and life-long learning in new and exciting endeavors. The ability for employers to quickly identify tech talent will facilitate rapid expansion of the sector,” said Mitch Carmichael, Senior Advisor to LG NOVA and former West Virginia Senate President.
According to the West Virginia Department of Economic Development, the technology industry has a $2.5 billion economic impact on the state. As the technology sector continues to grow across West Virginia, this collaboration underscores a shared commitment to fostering innovation, retaining skilled professionals, and positioning West Virginia as a hub for tech talent.
