Generation West Virginia Executive Director Appointed to Governor’s Workforce Development Board

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has appointed Alex Weld, executive director of Generation West Virginia, to the West Virginia Workforce Development Board.

The Workforce Development Board assists in the development of a state plan that will enhance the capacity and performance of the workforce development system; align and improve the workforce programs and investments; and promote economic growth.

“Being appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board is an incredible honor,” said Alex Weld. “Generation West Virginia’s programming is instrumental in guiding young West Virginians towards meaningful career pathways. Through our close partnership with the state of West Virginia, we’re committed to fueling progress and helping people discover fulfilling careers in the Mountain State.”

Weld will serve a 2-year board term and will serve on the Industry Partners and Employers Engagement Committee.
