Generation West Virginia Names Jennifer Taylor as Director of Development

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sept. 3, 2025

Generation West Virginia is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Taylor as its new Director of Development. Taylor will lead GWV’s fundraising strategy, strengthen philanthropic partnerships, and expand the organization’s resources to create more opportunities for young people across the Mountain State.

Taylor brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience, with expertise in cultivating relationships, securing resources, and creating pathways for impact. Most recently, she served as Philanthropy Director at Valley Hospice, where she built the organization’s philanthropic infrastructure, developed major donor programs, and launched campaigns to grow community support. She has also held advancement and development roles at Central Catholic High School, St. James and John School, and was the founding Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of the Ohio Valley.

“Jennifer’s career has been dedicated to strengthening the systems and communities that help West Virginia thrive,” said Alex Weld, Executive Director of Generation West Virginia. “Her proven leadership in fundraising, paired with her passion for this state’s future, makes her an invaluable addition to our team. With Jennifer’s experience and commitment, we’re excited to grow the support that powers our work for the next generation.”

For Taylor, the role is also deeply personal.

“West Virginia isn’t just where I live; it’s where I’ve built my family, my career, and my community,” Taylor said. “I believe in Generation West Virginia’s vision to make this a place where young people can stay, succeed, and lead fulfilling lives. I’m honored to join this team and to help expand the resources needed to make that vision a reality.”

Taylor lives in Wheeling with her husband, their twin sons, and their dog Ember. She is also the proud mother of two adult daughters who have made their homes and families in West Virginia. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and experiencing the arts and local culture.
