Celebrating Fellowship graduation, NewForce Demo Day Dec 3rd, expanded digital literacy programs, and open applications for 2026 cohorts. Plus: how you can help keep West Virginia’s future here this Giving Tuesday.
Help Keep the Future Here this Giving Tuesday
Last week, we watched another class of Fellows cross the stage at the Generation West Virginia Fellowship Graduation. Each one represents what is possible when talent meets opportunity right here at home. These are young professionals who could have taken their skills anywhere, yet they chose to build their future here in the Mountain State.
Moments like this remind us why Generation West Virginia exists.
We connect people with the opportunities, skills, and networks they need to stay and thrive. Our programs bridge the gap between emerging leaders and the careers, mentors, and communities that help them grow. The result is more West Virginians choosing to stay, build, and lead right here at home.
Because when one person stays, a community gets stronger.
When a hundred stay, a region begins to grow.
And when thousands stay, an entire state transforms.
That transformation touches everyone. It strengthens local schools, fuels small businesses, fills critical jobs, and keeps hope alive in every corner of West Virginia.
As Giving Tuesday approaches, we are inviting all West Virginians to help keep that future here. Your belief in this state and your support of the people who are building it, makes all the difference.
We all have a stake in West Virginia’s future. Let’s build it together. Because West Virginia’s future depends on all of us.
Fellowship
Your Leadership Journey Starts Here–
2026 Fellowship Applications Now Open
It’s been a full and impactful November for our 2025 Fellowship cohort. Early in the month, fellows traveled to Tucker County for sessions on arts-driven community revitalization, the role of economic development authorities and community foundations, and how Snowshoe, Timberline, and White Grass have each built their own niche in West Virginia’s winter recreation economy.
Just two weeks later, the cohort wrapped up the program in Charleston, where they explored Goodwill’s community impact, learned about the region’s expanding manufacturing sector with Advantage Valley, and gained firsthand insights into the legislative process while strengthening their executive leadership skills.
We’re thrilled to celebrate the graduation of the Fellowship Class of 2025 and excited to welcome what comes next.
Applications are now open for the 2026 Cohort.

NewForce Demo Day: A Talent Showcase & Recruiting Event
Join us for NewForce Demo Day on December 3rd, where our latest cohort of data analytics trainees will showcase the skills they’ve honed over the past five months. Employers will have direct access to highly-skilled data analysts with professional experience across a variety of industries, demonstrating both technical expertise and critical thinking. Morning and afternoon sessions are available, and attendees are welcome to join one or both sessions.
Applications for NewForce Cohort 12 are NOW OPEN!
NewForce is a 5 month, fully-remote, tuition-free data analytics career training program. Through an immersive curriculum, NewForce trainees solve real-world problems, present findings, collaborate on teams, and graduate with in-demand data analytics skills. We then leverage employer partnerships to help trainees find their first industry role. Applications will remain open until November 14th. We are excited to engage with another round of applicants looking to break into the data analysis industry!

Thanks to continued support from the Claude Benedum Foundation, GWV Broadband can extend these vital resources to even more community organizations. We’re excited to grow this program further in 2026.
