Momentum is growing in the Town of Cowen, WV. Cowen has several exciting projects
underway that are supported by this VISTA opportunity. Community engagement, planning and
improvement, and volunteerism are key strategies for the exciting improvements coming to
Cowen to make it attractive to locals and guests passing through. These projects serve larger
economic revitalization goals for communities like Cowen in the Mon Forrest Towns region.
Some projects this VISTA opportunity will support include the local park, the B&O pond’s
outdoor picnic, fishing and walking facilities, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and bike
trails. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about community involvement and
volunteerism, and who has an interest in communications and marketing material development.
The role will be based in Cowen, Webster County, WV. This position will start in Spring 2024,
depending on candidate availability.
