The Hub

The Hub is looking for a VISTA Leader. Through our community engagement programs,
communities will be building their capacity around specific leadership skills, teamwork success,
community engagement techniques, facilitation skills, communications and marketing, business
outreach and training materials, knowledge of service providers and funding resources, and
grant writing abilities. Members of The Hub’s VISTA program support these efforts, providing
long-term capacity building after coaching programs conclude. This VISTA Leader position will
deepen these efforts, by supporting both the coaching program and VISTA cohort development.
This VISTA Leader will build the capacity of The Hub’s AmeriCorps VISTA program and
coaching programs by building systems to better support members, in turn facilitating the ability
of members to better support their community-based coaching projects. Through this project,
the member will create systems that will showcase the importance of National Service in
community and economic development efforts in WV. The VISTA Leader will lead the
development of training and support systems for both members and sites to improve the overall
member experience, including expanding existing opportunities and creating AmeriCorps-
specific opportunities within The Hub’s Kickstart Communities Champions for Change
Fellowship. This opportunity is great for someone who enjoys analyzing and building systems,
feels comfortable taking the lead, and has some knowledge about creating training materials.

AmeriCorps VISTA Leaders must have already completed one year of National Service to be
eligible. It is recommended that the candidate has access to a car for site visits.
