Job Description:
We are seeking a creative, motivated and enthusiastic individual, to join our team and ready to make a difference! The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the arts and The Arts Center’s mission, can balance multiple tasks, while supporting the arts programming. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and various committees in the development and coordination of the Arts Centers arts programming. Contribute creative ideas to the planning process and engaging the arts experiences! This position will be involved heavily with the planning, creating, designing and implementing arts programs. Small and large scale events and fundraiser work. Enhance the visitors experience in our gallery and while inquiring about art classes. We may tailor the role to a talented or passionate candidate.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: 

  • Strong commitment and Interest in the arts

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a welcoming presence. Communication skills-written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and with a team, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly and effectively about challenges and opportunities you are encountering in your day-to-day work.

  • Assist with researching grant opportunities and staying abreast of the latest art trends

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and shift direction when needed.

  • Excellent computer skills, with preference for candidates proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, Gmail, and Zoom.

  • Knowledge and ability to work with social media, newsletters, IG, FB, Zo

  • Must have reliable transportation to The Arts Center and off site meetings as needed.

  • Excellent computer skills, with preference for candidates proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, Gmail, and Zoom. Squarespace and Canva are very beneficial.

  • Social Media skills with various platforms including IG, FB, LinkedIn, E-Newsletters, etc. Photos are important to our documentation process.

  • grant experience is a huge bonus!

  • other related duties will also be performed that relate to this position

  • Combo of physical and desk work. Ability to lift heavy sculptures and move heavy work while installing exhibitions and in the studios.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA of BFA) in history, art, museum studies, education, or a closely related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in program development and delivery

Experience: Two years experience in providing assistance in developing and coordinating programs, preferably visual or performing arts.
Education: Possession of a College Art Degree is a bonus! Related degrees with experience accepted.

Art Center Requirements/Policies:

  • Adhere to all Art Center’s policies including our Child Protection Policy. Obtain clearances: Criminal Record Background Check that adheres too, and supports our Child Protection Policy. The Arts Center will pay for your clearances upon hire.

  • Schedule: Mix of traditional and non traditional hours, with flexibility. Participate in our fundraisers, and other events.

  • Proof of Education and ID required

Compensation: Pay is based on individual merit, and experience.
Status: Full Time. Part Time interested individuals are encouraged to apply.
Reports to The Arts Center’s Executive Director

Benefits: vacay, plus winter break, holidays- state and federal (amount depends on Full Time vs Part Time)

Organization Description: The Arts Center’s team advocates for a greater understanding of the visual arts through the promotion of art education, exhibition, events and community engagement. Our organization is a visual arts center committed to bringing the community meaningful experiences in the arts through classes, exhibitions, outreach, events and more. The Arts Center’s arts programming for all ages is diverse; 12-14 art exhibitions each year, serving 300 + students each year with tuition-based arts classes, 6 fundraisers, concerts/performances, and events for the community.

The Arts Center’s team members are visual and vocal ambassadors for The Arts Center. Our team is passionate about the mission and able to convey the importance and uniqueness of our organization and programming to diverse constituencies: current and potential students, parents of students, donors, schools, and the broader arts and education communities.
