Family Enrichment Center Coordinator VISTA

Williamson Housing Authority (WHA), located in Mingo County, West Virginia, has a long history as one of the oldest public housing agencies in the country. This serves as a testament to Williamson’s long-standing and continued commitment to provide safe and affordable housing to those most in need. The mission of the WHA continues today as it did in 1938 at its’ founding, to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing to low and moderate-income families. Beyond providing housing, the WHA also provides programming for its residents and community at large that seek to build a better future in Williamson. One such initiative is the Family Enrichment Center (FEC). The FEC Coordinator VISTA position will support the standing up of this initiative, in tandem with AmeriCorps State Corps members, to become a center for afterschool activities and life skills workshops for the whole community. The VISTA will assist with grant writing, coordinating service projects, building and maintaining community partnerships, coordinating events with our programs, managing volunteers, developing marketing and recruitment materials, and identifying opportunities for family involvement within its programs. This position is expected to start in spring of 2024. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
