New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA) is seeking a VISTA to help build capacity and help accelerate development within the New River Gorge Region. The project will coordinate economic development communication within the region’s communities while strengthening a regional collaborative approach to advance economic and community development. Working in tandem with county, regional, and state partners, the project will result in the development of regional communication tools that will increase development capacity in the NRG region. In this project, the member will support development and alignment of community/county-based engagement platforms, develop a framework that ensures broader outreach, support the sharing of project tools and resources available from NRGRDA, and will create a sharable communications framework/guidebook to support equitable community engagement in economic development outside of the NRG region, including the WV Hive’s thirteen-county region. This position is ideal for someone who loves working in the community, has some business knowledge and communications interests or experience, and thrives on making connections with others. The role will be based in Beckley, WV with regular travel in the region, covered by the site. This position will start in Spring 2024, depending on candidate availability.
